Customers were unable to log into the Bank of Ireland app or its online services for several hours
Bank of Ireland has apologised to the thousands of customers who were impacted by a crash of its mobile banking app and its 365 online services this Friday morning.
Friday-the-13th has proven unlucky for Bank of Ireland which has confirmed the services were down for a number of hours.
However, the bank announced shortly after 1pm that the issue had been resolved and that the services had been restored.
Our mobile banking and 365 Online banking have now been restored. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused to our customers today.

Earlier, representatives of the bank - one of the largest in Ireland - were inundated with complaints from frustrated customers on social media who were unable to access their online banking.

One X user expressed their frustration: "Once a month now, time to switch to a more up to date bank at this stage."
Another user said: "the app is down now once or twice a month it's ridiculous."
