Gardai investigating the death of a young woman in County Limerick over the weekend have arrested a man.
Marguerita Sheridan, 21, lost her life following the hit-and-run in Rathkeale on Saturday afternoon.
She was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after the driver of a silver transit van allegedly rammed the gates of a property at Bank Place, in the town.
It is understood Marguerita, who gave birth to a baby boy three weeks ago, was standing in proximity to the gates at the time.
A garda spokesperson said a van believed to have been involved in this incident has been recovered by and will be subject to a technical examination.
"The man, aged in his 40s, is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in County Limerick. Gardaí continue to appeal for any witnesses to this incident to come forward," said a garda spokesperson.

Gardai continue to appeal for witnesses.
"Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were in the Rathkeale area in county Limerick between 11.30am and 1.00pm on Saturday are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Rathkeale garda station on 069 63222, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any garda station," said a garda spokesperson.
Investigations are ongoing.
