Stephen Hogan has been located 'safe and well'

Searches for a man who was reported missing from his home on Christmas Eve have been stood down, gardai have confirmed.

On Christmas Day, gardaí issued an appeal for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of Stephen Hogan, 50, from the Hollyhill area of Cork city.

In the appeal, they said both they and Stephen's family were concerned for his well-being adding that he may have been travelling in a 08C-registered grey Toyota Avensis car.

In an update, they have confirmed there has been a positive outcome.

"Stephen Hogan, 50 Years, who had been missing from Hollyhill, Cork since Tuesday, December 24, 2024, has been located safe and well," read a brief statement.

No further details have been disclosed publicly and gardai have thanked members of the public and the media for their assistance during the appeal.
