RIP: Search for woman missing since St Stephen's Day stood down amid tragic update

Sheila King, 49, from Raheny, Dublin had not been seen since Thursday

The search for a Dublin woman who was reported missing on St Stephen's Day has been stood down, following the discovery of a body.

Gardai had issued a public appeal for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 49-year-old Sheila King, who was last seen in the Raheny area at around 2.20pm on Thursday.

Concerns were expressed for her well-being at the time and in an update, issued this Saturday night, gardai confirmed the search has now been stood down.

"Following the discovery of a body in North Dublin earlier today, the missing person appeal in respect of Sheila King has been stood down," said a spokesperson.

No further information has been disclosed publicly by gardai who have thanked members of the public and the media for their assistance with the appeal.
