Lotto player comes agonisingly close to scooping €2.6m jackpot but still pockets huge sum

It’s a snow-stopping day for one Lotto player who matched five numbers and the bonus in last night’s Lotto draw to bag a whopping €30,570.

The player purchased their Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw from Supervalu, Main Street, Ballybunion, County Kerry.

The winning numbers in last night’s (Wednesday, January 8th) Lotto draw were: 6, 17, 27, 28, 35, 44 and the Bonus was 29.

While there was no winner of last night’s Lotto jackpot worth €2,624,636 in total, the Kerry player who scooped €30,570 was just one number off of winning the jackpot prize.

50,000 players also won prizes across Lotto and Lotto Plus draws, according to the National Lottery

The National Lottery is urging all players in the Ballybunion area in County Kerry to check their tickets carefully.

Darragh O’Dwyer, National Lottery Spokesperson said: “Last night’s Lotto draw brought an avalanche of joy for one player in Ballybunion, County Kerry, who scooped a chillingly cool €30,570 prize! Don’t be left out in the cold - check your tickets today to see if you’re our next big winner!”

If you’re holding the winning ticket, be sure to contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize.
