'I did flash' - Irish woman shocked by what fellow driver did in McDonalds drive-thru
A Dublin woman was left shocked in a McDonalds drive-thru last week thanks to the act of the driver in front of her in the queue.
The heartwarming moment happened at the Charlestown outlet in Dublin when a woman kindly paid for the car behind her. The woman in the second car took to social media to thank the kind-hearted driver, sparking a chain reaction of goodwill.
The woman posted in a Finglas community page: "Just wanted to say thank you so much to this lady in the car. She paid for my order at McDonalds at Charlestown drive thru this afternoon and told the girl to tell me have a great day.
"I did flash to try say thanks. I didn't want to beep and the car left so couldn't go over.
"But just wanted to put it here in case the lady is on this page and say thank you so much. It was a lovely thing to do. Made my day, my son was chuffed."
The surprised woman vowed to pay it forward and would have done it there and then but there were no cars behind her.

People were quick to heap praise on the kind motorist with one person commenting, "kindness is such a powerful thing, it reminds us this life is a gift and people are inherently good."
The manager of the McDonalds in question then commented to try and track down the kind woman so he could return the favour and provide her and her family with a meal on the house.
The drivers involved managed to make contact with the first woman wanted to remain anonymous. The second woman said: "The lady messaged me this morning and it was lovely getting to chat with her. She is not in this group but I sent her a shot of this message [about free meal offer] and she has asked that she remains anonymous. But she is very thankful for the kind offer."
