'Amongst the best in the world!' Nominations revealed for IFTA Awards 2025

Gala event will take place in Dublin on February 14, 2025

The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) has proudly announced the nominations for the 2025 IFTA Awards, honouring exceptional achievements in Film and Drama across 29 categories.

Award winners will be announced at the 22nd anniversary IFTA Awards Ceremony taking place on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.

This prestigious event, according to IFTA, will welcome Irish and international industry luminaries, celebrating artistic and technical brilliance while spotlighting the profound impact of Irish filmmaking craft and storytelling both domestically and globally.

This year, iconic actor Colm Meaney, best known for playing Miles O'Brien in Star Trek, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his extraordinary contributions to cinema and television.

Academy CEO, Áine Moriarty said: “The 2025 Nominees shortlisted for Irish Academy Awards this year, is an incredible showcase of work that reinforces the fact that Irish talent is now amongst the best in the world, delivering such high standards of filmmaking, storytelling and performances that resonate with audiences worldwide. Cillian Murphy, Paul Mescal and Kneecap are among the nominees across 29 categories for the 2025 IFTA awards.
