Families evacuated from their homes due to Storm Éowyn damages

Two families in County Kerry have been evacuated from their homes as of Storm Éowyn.

The families were evacuated from An Daingean as the gable end of the house was blown in and Ballybunion as a roof was blown off the house.

Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland Paul Neary, senior engineer with Kerry County Council said: "The roof and gable of the house were very damaged so the two people had to be evacuated in the middle of the night and accommodation was found elsewhere for them."

As of 7am, every county is under a status red wind warning and more than 560,000 homes, farms and businesses are without power this Friday morning.
