'You've won big!'- Family claim €4.6 million in first lotto jackpot win of 2025

'You've won big!'

The National Lottery has shared the latest lucky winners from all over the country who have all claimed thousands of euro in prizes.

A family from Drogheda has claimed the first Lotto Jackpot of 2025 worth €4,642,646 on Wednesday, 29th January’s Lotto draw.

The ticket was purchased from John’s Centra on Platin Road, Drogheda, Co. Louth.

This tight-knit clan have been playing the Lottery as a family for years, playing the same numbers every week, with this being their first major win.

“It’s become a tradition in the house, checking the tickets every week using the app. When we scanned the winning ticket – we could not believe it – the ticket was checked over and over again! I never let the ticket leave my side, any time I left the house it came with me, and when I was at home the safest place for it was to have it tucked away in my passport!" one of the family members said.

Dublin’s Golden Moment

A Dublin man made his way to Lottery HQ to collect his winnings of €44,357, after matching five numbers plus the bonus in Saturday, 8th February’s draw.

He purchased his winning ticket from Centra Malahide Rd, 68B Malahide Rd, Clontarf, Dublin 3.

“I don’t usually buy Lotto tickets, but I happened to be in a shop and flippantly decided to buy a quick pick, not thinking much of it at the time. That night, I happened to see the numbers appear on screen and thought they looked familiar. I jumped up out of my seat to scan the ticket on the app. When it said, ‘You’ve Won Big’, I knew I was onto a winner!”

The Dubliner just recently purchased his new home and looks forward to being able to renovate it with his handsome prize.

Mayo’s Scratchcard Sensation

A Mayo woman recently celebrated her windfall of €45,000 on a Fire 4s Ice 5s scratch card, that she picked up from Kavanagh’s SuperValu, The Square, Claremorris, Co Mayo.

“I was doing my weekly grocery shopping, and that specific scratch card caught my eye – it was the first time I've ever purchased it. Even after the win, I bought another one that had a €25 prize on it!”
