A young man has died following a road crash in County Westmeath, involving a quad bike and a motorbike.
Confirming details of the fatal incident, gardaí say emergency services attended the scene of the collision that occurred at Ballynascarry, Finea, County Westmeath at around 3.30pm this Saturday afternoon.
"The male driver of the quad bike, aged in his 20s was fatally injured and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has since been removed to the mortuary in Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar where a post mortem examination will take place in due course," said a garda spokesperson.

According to gardai, the male driver of the motorbike, also aged in his 20s was removed from the scene and taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin where his condition is described as critical.
A male passenger, who was travelling in the quad bike was removed from the scene and taken to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore with what have been described as non-life threatening injuries.
Gardai say the road is currently closed and will remain closed overnight as a technical examination is due to be carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators on Sunday afternoon.
Gardaí in Mullingar are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
They are also appealing to road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and who were travelling in Ballynascarry, Finea between 3pm and 4pm to make this footage available to them.
