RIP: Young boy dies after being struck by tractor in Kerry road crash

Gardaí and emergency services say they attended the scene of the fatal road traffic incident at Beaufort Bridge, County Kerry at around 7.30pm on Monday

Investigations are underway after a young boy was killed after he was struck by a tractor in County Kerry.
Gardaí and emergency services say they attended the scene of the fatal road traffic incident at Beaufort Bridge, County Kerry at around 7.30pm on Monday.

"A pedestrian, a male juvenile, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was removed to University Hospital Kerry where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course," said a gardai spokesperson who confirmed that the driver of the tractor, a man aged in his 20s, was not injured.

Following the incident, the road was closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and investigating gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Investigating gardaí are specifically appealing to any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and who were travelling in the area of Beaufort Bridge, between 7pm and 7.45pm on Monday, to make this footage available.
