Woman (70s) hospitalised following dog attack at a property in Dublin

Gardai launch investigation after body of elderly woman discovered in a house in Tipperary

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an incident involving a dog, that has left a woman in her 70s in hospital in County Dublin.

The incident happened on the afternoon of Tuesday the 22nd of April 2025 and the woman is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries in Beaumont Hospital.

From the Garda Press Office:

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to an incident involving a dog that occurred at a property in Darndale, Dublin 17 at approximately 2:45pm yesterday, Tuesday 22nd April 2025.

A woman, aged in his 70s, was taken to Beaumont hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The dog has been removed by the local Dog Warden.

For guidance only: It is understood that the dog involved is not a restricted breed.
