ALERT: 'Chemical and burn risk'- Consumers warned to bin this item amid huge safety risks

Consumers warned to bin this Ebay item made for children

A safety warning has been issued following a product recall from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) due to a serious health and safety risk of Ebay product.

According to the CCPC, a product recall of a children's chicken costume was recalled on April 13 2025 and those who may have purchased this product are warned to "please discontinue use immediately and discard the product," by CCPC.

The product presents a chemical and burns risk and the costume is highly flammable and may catch fire if worn close to an ignition source, resulting in burns, the CCPC said.

The plastic eye of the costume contains high levels of harmful chemicals (Chromium VI and Lead), which can cause health issues especially in children, the CCPC added.
