Met Éireann pinpoints location of 'likely thunderstorms'
Met Éireann's weather update has predicted that warm, sunny weather is set to continue up until early next week, with temperatures in the high 20s.
On Wednesday May 14, Met Éireann said "it will be a warm and sunny day for most."
However, heavy showers will develop in Munster and possibly South Connacht during the afternoon and evening and thunderstorms are likely."
"Highest temperatures of 19 to 25 degrees, warmest in the west, but a little cooler along the east coast due to a light to moderate easterly wind."
"Showers will die out early tonight leaving clear skies. A few mist and fog patches will form in a light and variable breeze. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 11 degrees".
On Thursday May 15, "it will be another warm and sunny day with a few isolated showers that may develop in the southwest towards the evening," Met Éireann said.
"Highest temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees, warmest in the west, but a little cooler along the east coast due to a light to moderate easterly wind."
"The fine weather will continue for the rest of the week and the weekend," said Met Éireann, "with plenty of sunshine and temperatures into the high teens or low twenties."

On Friday May 16, yet another warm and sunny day.
"There is a chance of a few showers developing in the southwest. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees generally but cooler towards the east coast due to a light easterly breeze," said Met Éireann.

The weekend: Staying sunny and warm for the weekend. Highest temperatures generally of 17 to 22 or 23 degrees, with coolest conditions again in eastern coastal counties due to easterly breezes.
The weather update has predicted that the weather early next week will stay settled and warm for the early days of next week with temperatures in the high teens or low twenties.
