ALERT: Sweets stocked in Ireland recalled by FSAI following presence of 'metal pieces'

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland have issued a recall over a snack food that may have presence of metal pieces in the implicated batches.

The product in question is Süßware aus Sonnenblumenkernen, that comes from Ukraine.

The food recall was made on Thursday the 15th of May 2025.

The following are the affected batch numbers of the products in questions:

Message from the FSAI reads as follows:

The above batch of Süßware aus Sonnenblumenkernen (sunflower seed confectionery) is being recalled due to the possible presence of metal pieces. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores.

The notice to consumers reads:

Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches.  

Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale.  

Wholesalers/distributors are requested to contact their affected customers and recall the implicated batches and provide a point-of-sale recall notice to their retail customers.
