Irish man in his 50s 'in serious condition' in hospital following motorcycle collision
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a serious road traffic collision in Cavan recently where a man was airlifted to hospital.
The collision occurred on the R194 in Virginia, Co. Cavan on Sunday 18th May 2025 at around 6:40pm.
The collision involving a car and a motorcycle occurred on the outskirts of Virginia.
The male motorcyclist (50s) was airlifted to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
The male driver of the car and his female passenger were uninjured.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have completed an examination of the scene and the road has been reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Additionally, they are asking any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, from the area at the time to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
