Father of two paid tribute following tragic car collision

A father of two who was killed in a collision in Galway has been named locally as Aidan Mc Nern from Donegal.

Tributes have poured in for Aidan Mc Nern (40s) on RIP.ie who lost his life in a three-car collision at Clareview Park in Ballybane in Galway before 3pm on Sunday.

He was the driver of one of the cars involved and died after being brought to University Hospital Galway.

Aidan will be deeply missed by his loving family, his mother Caroline, his daughters Grace and Ciara and their mum Annmarie, his twin brother Gordan (Laura), his sister Lisa (Martin). Sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, niece and nephews, and all his relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements:

His remains will repose at his family home in Castleview tomorrow Wednesday from 2p.m until rosary at 9pm and on Thursday from 2p.m until rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Friday morning at 11.30 a.m at The Church of St Joseph and Conal, Bruckless for 12 noon Requiem mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Aidan, with one mourner writing,

"Our deepest condolences to Aidans daughters and his family for their tragic loss. We had the pleasure of knowing him for many years. He was nothing short of a gentleman. He will be sadly missed by us all. May his gentle soul rest in peace".

Another message said, "Our sincere condolences to all of Aidan’s family, his little girls, their mom and his mom Caroline, sister and brother and families, we are so upset to hear about his passing at such a young age, May he rest at Peace, he spent a few months staying with us just after his dad had passed, he was such a sweet and likeable person never bothered anyone, always on the go and ready to help at a moments ask."

"My sincere condolences to all Aidan's family & friends. Such a terrible tragedy.. May he be at peace and help you all through your toughest days," another tribute said.
