Tragic death of young man shook the nation as countless messages flood in
Countless RIP tributes have poured in from across the country following the tragic passing of Luke John Hyde from Cork who drowned in the River Lee.
Luke was the beloved youngest son of Lily who featured on RTE's Upfront with Katie Hannon recently following the devastating death of her son as he drowned while people watched and recorded the scene on their mobile phones.
Lily shook the nation with her devastating account of the night her beloved son's life was taken and said she will never be the same again.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved Luke, with one mourner writing,
"I didn't know Luke but it's heartbreaking hearing his mam Lilly crying on upfront with Katie hannon.
Rip Luke. It's absolutely disgusting that people would not help this man..".

Another message said, "I am so sorry to hear about the tragic passing of Luke. He was such a gentleman and a lovely person to be around for the short time we worked with him in Eurogiant Ballincollig. We both are sending so much love to his son and his family at this difficult time. May he rest in peace. You will never be forgotten by myself and Demi sleep tight x".
"Was shocked and saddened to hear about the sudden loss of Luke. I met Luke almost two years ago and in that time that I knew him I found him to be a very caring and loyal person. He was great at drawing cars and spoke about his time in the navy and working in security. Overall a really sound fella. I am sending strength and comfort in the days ahead for his family and surrounding friends . May his gentle soul rest in peace," another person said.
Funeral Arrangements:
Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street on Saturday (3rd May) from 12noon, family in attendance from 3.00pm with Rosary at 4.00pm. Requiem Mass on Monday (5th May) at 10.00am in the North Cathedral.
