A woman who was being questioned by gardai about a fatal hit-and-run in Dublin last Christmas has been charged and will appear in court next week.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was arrested on Wednesday by gardai investigating the fatal incident which happened in Blanchardstown on St Stephen's Day.

Georgina Hogg Moore, 39, and her 40-year-old husband, Anthony (Anto) Hogg, died from injuries they sustained after they were struck by a vehicle while crossing the road at around 5.45pm.

A man who was also arrested on Tuesday has been released without charge, gardai have confirmed.

"The man, aged 40 years who was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) morning in connection with this investigation was released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

"The woman, aged in her 30s, was charged and was released on bail and is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on June 17 2025 at 10.30am," read a brief statement, issued this Thursday morning.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.

Following last December's hit and run, Ms Hogg Moore was pronounced dead at the scene while her husband later died at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.

The couple, who had two children, had been out shopping and were returning home when the collision occurred.
