Irish schoolgirls over the moon as song features in popular Netflix show
A trio of Irish school girls created a hit song in Athy college which has now made it into a popular Netflix show.
The song "Something about you" was written by lead singer Makayla Farrell shortly after her nanna died from cancer.
Melina McDonald, Makayla Farrell and Natalia are all part of the band I.F that formed in Athy college.
Natasha told Live Line that she wrote the song when she was fourteen after her granny who died from cancer and that it's a song very close to her heart.
The song has since grown in popularity and has featured in episode nine of popular Netflix show 'Ginny and Georgia'.
Speaking on RTE's Live Line, Natalie said: "It's insane....it's a show we all watch and our parents watch."
"It hit me hard at the time," Natasha said, "I decided to write a song about it and it really made me realise I have a love for song writing."

"Loss is something unfortunately a lot of people deal with and grief is a very universal experience," Natasha added.
"We first released the song maybe around two years ago....I was delusional and I contacted every single music supervising company that I could find," Natasha said.
