Irish customers warned as popular Dunnes Stores dessert pulled from shelves over allergy fears
Dunnes Stores have recalled some batches of their own brand of Dunnes Stores Luxury Apple Pie due to allergy concerns following a packaging error.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) explained that the supermarket's Apple Pie has been pulled from its shelves as certain packs were mispacked with Dunnes Stores Dunnes Luxury Pear and Almond Pie.
The apple pie contains almonds, however due to the mix-up, it is not declared on the label that the product contains the nut.
This means that the batch may be unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of almonds. The FSAI added: "These consumers should not eat the implicated batch."
The impacted batch is the Dunnes Stores Luxury Apple Pie pack size 750g, with a best before date of Monday, 16 2025. It's batch code is 242.
