Gardai say the motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene and that the local coroner has been informed
An investigation is underway after a motorcyclist died in a road crash in north Cork - close to the border with Limerick.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the single-vehicle incident which happened near the village of Milford, sometime on Saturday afternoon.
They say they were alerted to a motorcyclist who was "found unresponsive" this Sunday morning on the R515 at Coolnagour between Milford and Dromcollogher in County Limerick.
"The motorcyclist, a male in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course," said a spokesperson.
Motorists are being advised the road is currently closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and that local diversions are in place.
