Woman (60s) seriously injured after being hit by parked car that 'unexpectedly moved'
Gardaí have confirmed that a woman in her 60s sustained serious injuries after she was struck by a parked car that 'unexpectedly moved' in Cork on Monday afternoon, 23 June.
Emergency services and gardaí responded after they received reports that a woman had been struck by a parked SUV that had unexpectedly moved shortly before 12pm on Monday on Pophams Road in Farranree, Cork.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said that the woman who was injured in the incident was removed to Cork University Hospital.
The road was temporarily closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and it has since reopened.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward, particularly those with camera or dash-cam footage.
Any road users who may have camera or dash-cam footage and were in the area at the time have been asked to make it available to gardaí.

The Garda spokesperson said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
