Mystery over abandoned tow truck with classic car on back before shock Garda discovery
Gardaí made a discovery that led them to seize an abandoned tow truck and classic car over the weekend.
Gardaí in Wicklow were alerted to the truck parked in a small residential laneway in Arklow with no sign of the owner for a number of days.
A Garda statement explained: "This tow truck was abandoned in a small residential laneway in Arklow over the past few days. Following numerous complaints from residents that it was taking up two of the few parking spaces in the area local Gardaí investigated it further."

Gardaí added: "Upon inspection it was discovered that the vehicle hadn't been taxed for 2,135 days, since it last expired in 2019. It was in poor condition also and not road worthy. It was towed from its spot by two skilled operators of our contracted recovery service and sent on its way.
"Prosecution to follow," they concluded.
