IRELAND HEAT MAP: How hot will your county be amid Met Éireann's weekend forecast

Temperatures could reach 30 degrees in parts of Ireland this weekend with Met Éireann already issuing a Status Yellow high temperature warning for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In their forecast for the coming days, Met Éireann says Friday will see some fog in some southern and eastern areas clear through the morning to leave an "otherwise dry, sunny and very warm" day with temperatures reaching 25 to 29 degrees.

They add Friday night will be dry with long clear spells and light winds. "Very mild or warm with temperatures not falling below 13 to 17 degrees."

Met Éireann say Saturday "will be very warm or hot with temperatures reaching 26 to 30 degrees. It will be dry and sunny with light to moderate southeasterly winds." The forecast is largely similar for Saturday and Sunday before a return to rain.

Met Éireann say Saturday "will be very warm or hot with temperatures reaching 26 to 30 degrees. It will be dry and sunny with light to moderate southeasterly winds."

The forecast continues: "Mild and mostly dry during the evening [Saturday] with a little more cloud pushing in across western parts. Southerly breezes and rather mild overnight with lowest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.

"Starting out largely fine and dry [on Sunday] with good sunny spells and mostly light winds. More cloud will build from the west with outbreaks of rain pushing in across Atlantic coastal counties. A very warm day with highest temperatures of 22 to 28 degrees and southerly breezes.

"Becoming rather cloudy with freshening southerly breezes [Sunday evening]. Outbreaks of rain will push in from the southwest and may be heavy and blustery at times too. Quite mild overnight with lowest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees."

The break in weather continues on Monday will more rain predicted.

"Cloudy and unsettled with a band of rain moving over the country during the morning. A clearance to sunny spells and scattered showers. Southeasterly breezes will change southwesterly later in the day with highest temperatures a bit cooler than recently at 18 to 22 degrees," Met Éireann says.

"Another unsettled and cooler day [Tuesday] with a good mix of scattered showers, blustery winds and some sunny spells too. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees," they concluded.
