Two teenage boys have been arrested after shots were fired at a house in Mullingar, Co Westmeath on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened at around 1.40pm in a residential area of the town, as gardaí appeal for witnesses.
Gardaí confirmed that no one was injured during the incident, but a full investigation is now underway.
In a statement issued this morning, a spokesperson said: "Gardaí have arrested two males in connection with an incident involving the discharge of a firearm, that occurred yesterday, Monday 14th July 2025, at a residential location in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.
"The incident occurred at approximately 1.40pm. No injuries were reported at the time.
"Two male youths, aged in their late teens, were subsequently arrested and are currently detained pursuant to Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda Station in the Co. Westmeath area."
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Ardleigh Park area between 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Monday and who may have witnessed the incident or captured footage to contact them.

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí confirmed.
