On Saturday July 12, 23-year-old Kian O'Neill suffered a cardiac arrest which led to a serious brain injury.

The family said that the brain injury is "catastrophic" and "tragically non survivable".

In a GoFundMe appeal the family said: "Our darling baby will remain on a ventilator until Tuesday the 15th of July to allow all his family and friends time to say goodbye. He is still with us allowing us a little bit more time to say goodbye.

"Kian is the beloved oldest sibling of four other children who will need all the possible support along with his parents, friends and wider family. We are are starting this go fund me to help with funeral arrangements to give our larger than life, beautiful angel the send off he deserves and allow us to give the attention, love and support his bereaved siblings require."

The GoFundMe has a goal of €14K and has raised €9,424 so far.
