Rosie O'Donnell loves living in Ireland as she hits back at Trump citizenship threat

The comedian is proud to stand as the 'polar opposite' to the President , believing he could be 'in the throws of dementia'

Rosie O'Donnell loves living in Ireland as she hits back at Trump citizenship threat

Rosie, who has Irish grandparents, is currently in the process of attaining Irish citizenship

Irish-American comedian Rosie O'Donnell has once again condemned US President Donald Trump's antics during a recent radio appearance on Newstalk.

Speaking on The Pat Kenny Show today, July 18, the actress spoke fondly of her and her child's love for Ireland, after the pair fled their home in the US once Trump was declared winner of the Presidential Election.

The former 'Rosie O'Donnell Show' star shared snippets into her newfound life here, from how relieved she is that her child is safe enough to walk to school on their own to the little things, like their love of the ice cream sold in local shop Mace.

Rosie, who has Irish grandparents, is currently in the process of attaining Irish citizenship after residing in a Dublin village for some time now.

However, just days before, the comedian found out her US citizenship could come under threat after President Donald Trump posted on his social media, saying, "Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship.

This is despite a decades-old Supreme Court ruling that prohibits such an action by government.

Getting candid with host Pat Kenny, the New York native responded to this claim. She stated, "I would like to be able to maintain my American citizenship. It's where I was raised and born, and where I am from. But I'm very happy to get my Irish citizenship as well. However, it is unconstitutional to take anyone's citizenship away once you're a citizen.

"At the moment, the Supreme Court have given him carte blanche, so he can pretty much do what he wants, this very corrupt Supreme Court and this very corrupt Senate, because they just recently voted not to release the Epstein files; in the middle of the night, like criminals hiding.

"All these people are as guilty as he is for all of his crimes," Rosie concluded.

The mother-of-one told Pat Kenny that when she decided to relocate after the election, there was "no other choice" than Ireland, but a big factor did come into play when making the decision.

Rosie said, "Part of the reason I did it (moving to Ireland) was because I have a non-binary 12-year-old autistic child and the attacks that he (Trump) has been spearheading about the trans community is overwhelming; but just like Hitler did, they pick on vulnerable minorities first. They came for the handicapped first and then they came for the gay and trans people. I knew that I had to keep my mental health, it was for self-preservation, that I wouldn't be able to live in a country and watch him dismantle it, as he has done."

Within the discussion, the comedian also divulged that she is proud to stand as the "polar opposite" to President Trump, believing he could be "in the throws of dementia."
