Irish mother gets cancer diagnosis six weeks after giving birth amid GoFundMe

Yvonne Daniels was diagnosed in with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer just six weeks after giving birth to her daughter

A GoFundMe has blown up recently that was set up by the husband of a women from Waterford who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
The GoFundMe has hit over €90,000 smashing through its goal of €80,000 to raise funds for treatment for mother of two Yvonne Daniels.
The GoFundMe said that Yvonne was diagnosed in August 2024 with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer just six weeks after giving birth to her daughter Fiadh.
"After been given a poor prognosis and advised to try chemotherapy here in Ireland we began her treatment journey there, unfortunately while this is only an attempt to extend her life with no hope of remission and thus far has had no real success and sadly condition has no worsened," Yvonne's husband said.
"Options are now limited.....however with extensive research and contact with other cancer patients we have discovered available treatments in Germany which have shown some great promise and potential with some patients going into remission and others seeing dramatic lessening of disease and symptoms."
"This treatment however comes at a great cost which for us alone is far out of reach financially. There are two treatment options we are hoping to avail of over the next 12 months
"Our goal is to keep Yvonne with us to see her two beautiful babies grow up so we are asking for your help to raise a massive amount of €80,000. This will be used to fund treatment , travel and cover costs of having to take time off work of which already on reduced income".
"Please dig deep and help keep this wonderful Wife, Mammy and friend with us for the years to come, lots of love Gavin & Yvonne".
