Car seized by gardaí as unaccompanied driver pays penalty for 'erratic' behaviour

A further investigation showed that two of the tyres were 'excessively worn'

An unaccompanied learner driver is now facing serious consequences after they were spotted by gardaí travelling the roads in an "erratic" manner.
Whilst out on patrols, members from the Cavan Roads Policing Unit encountered a vehicle that peaked their interest.
What initially caught gardaí's attention was the "erratic" driving of the person behind the wheel, particularly while on a junction.
Upon stopping the car, it was revealed that the driver was an unaccompanied learner who had no L plates displayed.
The NCT also was expired along with the Road Tax.
As well as this, a further investigation showed that two of the tyres were "excessively worn."
Gardaí in Cavan confirmed that the vehicle was seized and a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice was issued to the learner driver.
