RIP: Gardai seek witnesses after man dies in road crash on busy Tipperary road

The fatal incident happened on the N24 close to Cahir in Tipperary on Saturday morning

Investigations are underway following the latest fatal road crash on Irish roads.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a single-vehicle fatal road traffic collision on the N24 at Kilmoyler, Cahir, County Tipperary at around 10.40am this Saturday.

"The driver and sole occupant of the car, a man aged in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene," said a garda spokesperson who added that the man's body has since been removed to Tipperary University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently conducting an examination of the scene and motorists are being advised the road remains closed with local diversions are in place.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to come forward and to contact investigating gardai.

"Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and who were travelling in the area between 10.30am and 11am are asked to make this footage available to them.

Investigations are ongoing.
