ALERT: Hundreds of popular children's toys recalled due to potential choking hazard

Inkari B.V. have issued a recall on all Inkari Plush Alpacas (Mini, Small, Medium, Large)

A warning has been issued to Irish parents after hundreds of units of a popular children's toy sold in Ireland have been urgently recalled over potential choking fears.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) have advised the public that Inkari B.V. is carrying out a recall on all Inkari Plush Alpacas.

The plush Alpacas were available in sizes mini, small, medium and large, with all sizes being included in the recall notice.

The risk reported to the CCPC is choking.

Small plastic eyes on the plush may detach which may detach causing a potential choking hazard.

The brand included in the recall is Inkari, with all designs and batches affected.

Only the XXL plush Alpacas are excluded from the recall, as this size does not have the detachable eyes.

On the recall, Inkari have stated on their website: "The alpacas remain safe for display or collection by adults but because of the 0+ labelling and potential choking hazard for children under 3 the products do not comply with EU or US toy safety requirements. Therefore, we are required to recall all products sold since this date."

There are approximately 794 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

The recalled plush Alpacas were sold between August 1, 2023, and July 31, 2025.

A number of different retailers sold the implicated plushies with Inkari selling 700 units, Amazon with 70 units and FineOaks Alpacas with 24 units.

Consumers are being advised to stop using the affected products immediately.

To receive a full refund on the recalled plush Alpacas, consumers are being advised to contact Inkari at support@inkari.com.
