Wicklow Harbour
A man has tragically lost his life after getting into difficulty swimming on Wednesday.
Gardaí were alerted to the incident at Wicklow Harbour, but sadly the man in his 40s died at the scene.

In a statement, Gardaí said,
"Gardaí have recovered a body from the water at Wicklow harbour, Wicklow Town this evening Wednesday 27th August, 2025 following a search operation for a male swimmer who got into difficulties in the water.
"A body was recovered by the Garda Sub Aqua unit, who were assisted by the RNLI and Coast Guard this evening.
"The body of the male, aged in his 40s has since been removed from the scene to St. Columcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown where a post mortem will take place in due course.

"Investigations are ongoing and a file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court."
