The National Lottery has revealed that there was one winner of Wednesday's Lotto draw and the lucky player is soon to one of Ireland's richest people. 

The jackpot, which is understood to be the third highest ever won in Ireland, was worth over a whopping €17 million. 

It has now been revealed that the winning ticket was purchased online.

The National Lottery have said that they will reveal what county the winning ticket was purchased in tomorrow, Friday August 29.

The winning numbers were 2, 6, 20, 22, 26, 36 and the Lotto plus bonus number was 5.

The National Lottery has confirmed that a notification and an email has been sent to the online player.

The winner is urged to make contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of their jackpot prize.

The total jackpot was a massive €17,008,295. 

This will be Ireland's seventh jackpot Lotto winner of 2025 and the seventh National Lottery millionaire of the year across all their games. 

The National Lottery has yet to confirm where the winning ticket was won but are expected to do so later today, Thursday August 28. 

Previously, the highest ever Lotto jackpot was won by a family syndicate in County Mayo in January 2022. That prize was over €19 million. 

The second highest ever was won in June 2008 in County Carlow - a prize of over €18 million.
