Gardai investigating a violent incident at a public park in Roscommon over the summer have arrested four people, including two juveniles.

The arrests were made this Tuesday after two homes were searched in County Longford.

Confirming the arrests, gardai said the searches were part of the ongoing investigation into a violent disorder incident which took place on July 27, 2025 in Loughnaneane Park, on the outskirts of Roscommon Town. 

A spokesperson said that the four people arrested include "a male in his 30s, a female in her 20s and two juveniles."

All four individuals are being detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at stations in the Garda North Western Region.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident in question to come forward, including anyone with camera footage from the Loughnaneane Park area on July 27, 2025. 

Anyone with any information surrounding the incident is being asked to contact Roscommon garda station on 090 6638 300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station. 

Gardai have not publicly disclosed any further information about the incident as their investigations are ongoing.
