Gardaí appeal for witnesses following discovery of unresponsive man in his 80s in Sligo

Gardaí in Sligo are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body in Enniscrone on Monday, October 6, 2025.

At approximately 11:10pm, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a male in his 80s was found unresponsive on the road at Church Lane. He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

The Coroner has been notified. A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course, the results of which will determine the course of the Garda investigation.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, including any road users who were in the area of Church Lane, Enniscrone, between 10:00pm and 11:15pm on October 6, 2025.

Additionally, anyone who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and was traveling in the area at the time is asked to make it available to Gardaí.
