TEMU and SHEIN recall hundreds of products across Ireland amid serious fears for children's health

Online platform's Temu and SHEIN have recalled different products across Ireland amid a serious risk and harm to children's health.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has alerted the public to the following recalls and urges consumers to stop using the products immediately and to keep them out of reach of children.

Cat Paw Squishy toy

A safety issue has been identified with a Cat Paw Squishy toy sold by KRAIDAY on the TEMU platform. 

The risk reported to the CCPC is chemical, due to exposure to restricted phthalates over permitted limits.  Exposure to phthalates can harm children’s health by potentially damaging their reproductive system.

The model number is JY100. The bar code is 7144531495. The batch number is 24100112. The Product identifier is 17592741866678.

There are approximately 103 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

Musical Rattle Toy

A safety issue has been identified with a Musical Rattle Toy sold by Musical Dreamer on TEMU platform.

The product presents a risk of choking. The product contains small parts which could become detached. A child may put a small part in their mouth and choke. 

The brand is Unknown. The type/number of model is W0007 – green. The batch number is 20240330.  

There are approximately 74 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

Plush Toy White Duck

A safety issue has been identified with a Plush Toy White Duck sold by Claires on the TEMU platform.

The risk reported to the CCPC is of choking. Small parts can detach from the toy and become accessible, which could pose a risk of choking by ingestion.

There are approximately 6 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

Mermaid Dress

SHEIN is carrying out a recall of a Mermaid Dress sold by a third-party seller (Shenzhen Yiyuanda Trading Co.; Ltd.) on SHEIN marketplace.

The product presents a burns risk. Children could wear the costume close to an ignition source, and the costume could catch fire, resulting in burns.

The brand is unknown. The type/number of models is unknown. The batch numbers are 20250615, 20250529001, 2454164. The bar code is PB2506250174013. The SKU number is sk2404188591855511.

There are approximately 68 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
