RIP: Tragic update from gardaí as search for missing boy (14) is stood down
Gardai have delivered a tragic update as the missing person appeal for a young boy from Meath has been stood down.
Gardaí have confirmed that the move to stand down the search comes after the discovery of a body.
14-year-old Benjamin Spot has been reported missing on November 19 and a renewed appeal to find him was issued in late November.
However, a garda statement on Saturday, December 13, confirmed the tragic update:
"Following the discovery of a body in Co. Meath earlier today, the appeal in respect of 14-year-old Benjamin Spot who was reported missing in Navan, Co. Meath on Wednesday, 19th November 2025, has been stood down.
