'Do not use' - Marks and Spencer issue Irish recall as product can cause 'burns, lacerations'

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has alerted customers across Ireland to an urgent recall issued by Marks and Spencer.

The UK retail giant is carrying out a recall of the Marks and Spencer Kelly Hoppen Debossed Cappuccino Cup.

The ceramic cup base may crack or break during normal use, causing sharp fragments that can lead to cuts or lacerations. If this occurs while the cup contains hot liquid, burns or scalds may result.

The brand is Marks and Spencer. The serial number is 5389.

The barcodes are as follows:

  • T34/1332B / White / 5242504
  • T34/1332B / Taupe / 5310845
  • T34/1332B / Black / 5312375

The affected products were on sale from April 2025. There are approximately 53 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

What to do:

Customers should stop using the product immediately.

Customers can return the product to their nearest Marks and Spencer store to receive a full refund.
