'Do not use' - Zara recalls over 100 products in Ireland amid serious child safety fears

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has alerted customers across Ireland to an urgent recall issued by Zara amid serious child safety fears including choking and injury.

The UK retail giant has recalled the following products:

  • Zara Home Children’s desk chair with wheels

The risk reported to the CCPC is a rollover risk. The chair can tip over or rollover when in use and injure a child.

The brand is Zara Home. The model numbers are 2628/073/305, 2629/073/305.

There are approximately 14 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

  • Zara Home Children’s Toy Magic Wooden Board

The risk reported to the CCPC is choking. The article contains small parts which could pose a choking risk if the child puts the small part in their mouth.

The brand is Zara Home. The model number is Model: 7628/052/999.

There are approximately 166 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

  • Zara Home Children’s Wooden Foldable Table

The risk reported to the CCPC is injury. There is the possibility of an involuntary fold that could cause injury to the user.

The brand is Zara Home.  The model numbers are Model: 1627/072/052, 4657/072/052.

There are approximately 21 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

What to do

If you believe that you may have purchased an affected product, discontinue use immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.

Contact Zara Home through customer service or visit any Zara store to arrange a return and receive a full refund. A receipt is not required.
