A search for a missing man in Louth has been stood down after the discovery of a body, gardaí have confirmed.
In a statement issued today, Thursday, gardaí said: "Following the discovery of a body, the missing person appeal in respect of Shane McEvoy (38), who was reported missing from Dundalk, Co. Louth since Friday 13th March 2026 has been stood down.
"Gardaí would like to thank the media for their assistance," they added.
Shane McEvoy - described as being approximately 5 foot 10 inches in height, slim build, with light brown hair - was reported missing on Friday, March 13, 2026.
Shane had been last seen in the Ravensdale area of Dundalk between 9pm and 9.30pm on March 13.
Gardaí and his family expressed their concern for his well-being at the time of the appeal.
