The absence of the town bus service in Clonmel is incurring a cost on people who had to travel in and out of town, it was stated
A temporary town bus service will be available in Clonmel in January.
District Administrator Carol Creighton made the announcement at a meeting of Clonmel Borough District.
She had told a previous meeting that the project group of the National Transport Authority (NTA) was “looking seriously” at the restoration of the town bus service.
Cllr Niall Dennehy had stated that a serious cost was being incurred by people who had to come into the town several times a day, and the bus service needed to be restored.
District Mayor Pat English agreed that a replacement bus service was needed.
The service hasn’t operated since the onset of the Covid pandemic.
