The Corman Miloko plant near Carrick-on-Suir
Dairy company, Corman Miloko, that employs 31 people at its manufacturing facility just outside Carrick-on-Suir is to close at the end of June, the company has confirmed.
The company said in a statement that this difficult decision was as a result of a reduction in the volume of business contracted at the facility in recent years and follows significant restructuring efforts to enable it to operate in a highly competitive marketplace.
Thirty-one employees are affected by the closure of the dairy spreak and butterfact products manufacturing plant located just off the N24 Carrick-on-Suir to Clonmel Road at Deerpark.
The company said production at the plant will continue until the end of June and it will now liaise with employees and their representatives through this process.
Corman Miloko is a joint venture established in 2005 between Belgian based Corman and Tirlán (formerly Glanbia Ireland), with Corman owning 55% and Tirlán owning 45% of the company.
