Astro resurfacing underway
The astroturf pitch is the most used facility within the Ballymacarbry Community Centre and the current surface has served the community well for almost 15 years.
Plans have been in place for a number of years now to replace the current surface and this week those plans are coming to fruition.
The huge job of removing the current surface was undertaken by the committee and local volunteers to help minimize costs with the new surface being laid by Cashel company ‘Premier Pitches’ this week.
A sports capital grant was thankfully secured to fund a large percentage of this work and the balance will be paid for by the community centre thanks to revenue generated by the many classes and events organized and attended by the local community.
