The 31st John Treacy Dungarvan 10 mile Road race was held in perfect conditions on Sunday, February 5. This well organised race, hosted by West Waterford AC was held in beautiful February sunshine without a puff of wind. Once again over 3,000 athletes from all over Munster and beyond took to the streets and roads of Dungarvan at 11 am.

DBB AC had five athletes compete in this race. First home in a super pb time of 65.41 was David Gleeson, next home was Marie Fitzgerald in a PB time of 76:53, Martina Ivors in 88:10, Ciara Hickey in 91:56 and Aine Crosse in 92:32. Super running well done all.

Juvenile National Cross Country Championships

The 123.ie National Cross Country Juvenile B, Inter Masters took place in Gowran Park, Kilkenny on Sunday last, February 12.

Dualla Ballytarsna Boherlahan AC had two juvenile athletes compete. Conditions were ideal and it was a very well organised event.

Dearbhla Hickey ran in the Girls U11 race finishing 40th out of a large field of 133 athletes. Dearbhla placed on the Tipperary team which finished 4th overall, just outside the medals.

Rory Crosse ran in the Boys U15 finishing 18th. A super performance from Rory as he can still compete in this age category next year. Unfortunately Dara Crosse was unable to run due to illness. Well done to all who travelled to Kilkenny.
