Trevor Breen says that the win in Dubai bodes well for the start of the European season next month
Trevor Breen topped the leader board in the 1.45m CSI2 Grand Prix in Dubai on Sunday evening.
Riding the 12-year-old bay mare Germaine W, owned by Mandy Hall, Breen finished almost a second faster than Mohamed Shafi Mohamed AlRemeithi (UAE), who claimed second place.
The home nation also took third place with Salim Khamis Alsuwaidi.
Cashel rider Breen has competed with Germaine W since 2020 and together they have recorded multiple international top ten placings.
This victory is the second international success for this combination, having won in Dublin Stakes at last year's RDS Dublin Horse Show.
Speaking after the win, Trevor Breen said: "I am so thrilled to have won our final Grand Prix out here during our UAE tour for Team Z7.
"Germaine W has finished this tour so comfortable at GP level and I’m very excited for our season to start in Europe next month.
"I want to thank Team Z7 for having myself and my horses in UAE.
"It’s very exciting to have a string of four horses at top GP level and trips like this really help in that production".
