James Wodlock is the Tipperary minor hurling manager
The Tipperary minor and U20 hurling setups were both due to travel to Clare next week to take on the Banner in their respective Munster championship openers, with the minors fixed for Tuesday evening and the U20's set to play on Wednesday but after an update from Munster GAA this afternoon, the U20 hurling match has been rescheduled.
The minor hurling tie is set to go ahead as planned next Tuesday night but it will now be played at Wolfe Tones GAA Club in Shannon at 7pm.
Manager James Woodlock will welcome the venue being confirmed this week for the tie, as he had expressed his frustration at the delay in confirming a time and place for the game.
Sixmilebridge was unavailable as a venue for both minor and U20 games, and there are no floodlights in Cusack Park in Ennis which is the Clare county ground, so the U20 game could not go ahead as a midweek game.
It has now been rescheduled to Saturday week, March 25th in Cusack Park at 2pm where Eamon Stapleton of Limerick will referee.
Tipp U20 manager Brendan Cummins has been preparing a 35 strong panel this springtime for the championship. He will travel with a strong panel of players for the fixture led by Thurles Sarsfields Darragh Stakelum who has been named as the team captain for the year, while Jack Leamy of Golden Kilfeacle is vice-captain.
