Help keep Ballylooby beautiful!
It’s that time of the year again! Over the next few weeks we will be replanting flower beds and pots, weeding and cleaning up what’s there, replacing some old roses, and keeping our lovely village free of litter.
This is of course all volunteer work, and we would be ‘very’ interested if you’d like to help! An hour or two can make a huge difference in getting these jobs done, we have a bit of fun along the way, and it’s a great sense of achievement when the village looks bright and attractive.
If you’d like to pitch in, drop a note to Ballyloobycc@ gmail.com or the Ballylooby Community Council Facebook page, or just contact a council member.
See you in the village!

Well done Darragh
Congratulations to our Under 13 player Darragh Quinlan who has been selected to play for the Tipperary Primary Schools Go Games Football Team.
Darragh played against Waterford during the half-time interval of the Munster SFC match Tipperary v Waterford in FBD Semple Stadium, Thurles on Sunday last.
On behalf of the club, we say well done on your achievement, and we hope you enjoyed the experience.
GAA Easter Camp
The Tipperary GAA Easter Camp concluded last week in the club with three great days filled with fun, laughter, and some GAA skills!
Thanks to Tipperary Coaching and Games for organising.
It was great to see so many local coaches involved (three Ballylooby/Castlegrace, two Brian Borus and one Fr. Sheehy’s) and we wish them well in their future coaching roles and sporting endeavours.
A big thank you to Camp co-ordinators Tommy and Laura for their efforts.
It wouldn’t be possible to host this camp without the team of volunteers who give their time, with special mention to Orla, James, Marian and Michael for co-ordinating.
Feile 2023
A great day hurling for Knockmealdown Gaels u15s in the 2023 Feile. We headed for Bansha for the group stages where we played Portroe and the hosts Galtee Rovers. The first game was a tight affair, with scores being traded evenly. Ultimately, the only green flag of the game proved pivotal as Portroe won out 1-5 to 0-5.
In our second game, we were up against the hosts and played some very nice flowing hurling. We could now see a fantastic spirit among our boys and a mighty display of skill and determination. We won out on a score of 5-6 to 1-4. We then awaited the result of the final group game between Galtee Rovers and Portroe.
When the group was completed, we had qualified for the semi-final and a trip to Páirc na nOg in Thurles, where we faced Sean Treacy’s. After a tense first half against the wind we were 0-2 to no score up at half-time, Sean Treacy’s got 1:1 quickly after the restart but, to our boys credit, they steadied the ship and finished the game stronger with some well-taken scores from play and frees to qualify for the final 0-6 to 1:1.
The development of this group was evident from morning to afternoon, and they should be immensely proud of their efforts.
We look forward to the final and a renewal v Portroe next weekend in the Féile Division 6 final.
A big thank you must be extended to the parents for the great support and travel on the day. These boys are the future of both clubs and a credit to themselves and their families.
