Exploring the Antarctic
An illustrated talk by Maura Purcell on her recent visit to the Antarctic - a white snow-filled continent, discovered only 200 years ago.
Famous Irish explorers: Ernest Shackleton & Tom Crean. Others: Robert Scott & Roald Amundsen.
An icy place that the penguins call ‘home’.

Talk: St. Ailbe’s Hall on this Thursday, April 26 at 8pm.

Trócaire Boxes

Trócaire envelopes and boxes may still be handed in at Mass time any day. Donations to assist the victims of the Turkey/ Syria Earthquake are still invited.
Next Sunday, April 30, is the target date for both Trócaire and Earthquake funds.

Darkness into Light
Pallasgreen will host ‘Darkness into Light’ on Saturday, May, 6 at 4.15am – to raise much needed funds for Pieta House supporting people impacted by suicide and self-harm.
Registration Day at Lee’s Centra, Pallasgreen, next Saturday, April 29, 11 am – 3 pm. (and avail of your ‘D.I.L.’ shirt).

O16s volunteers needed for Knock Shrine
Youth Volunteers to help on one or more weekends during the summer, at Knock Shrine. To make a difference to the lives of others. Over 1.4 million people visit Knock Shrine every year from home and abroad. It’s a bright place of prayer and pilgrimage. People come as part of big groups, small groups, families, or alone.
Volunteers become part of teams of happy helpers.
Two Training Days (Sundays) in May. Details: Nicola Mitchell – 094-938 8100; or youthministry@ knockshrine.ie .
(No Lourdes Youth Group this year. So draw attention of son or daughter to Knock).
