The Darkness Into Light Walk in Clogheen will go ahead on Saturday, May 6.
The annual national walk for Pieta will take place locally starting from St. Paul's Community Centre in Clogheen at 4.15 am.
Registration is at the hall from 3.30 to 4 am. You do not need to book in advance.
There will be donation boxes in the hall for those who wish to donate to Pieta.
SINCERE SYMPATHY
Clogheen and the wider community would like extend sincere sympathy to the family Rosaleen O’Grady (nee Hickey).
Deepest sympathies to the O’Grady family Kileatin Clogheen on the death of Rosaleen at her home with her family by her side.
Rosaleen was a lovely person who always had a kind word for everyone she would meet.
She was predeceased by her husband Harry, brother James, and sister Margaret Mary.
Rosaleen is survived by her sons Henry and William, daughters Joan, Helen, Fiona and Eimear, sister Teresa, brothers Fr John and Fr Michael and all her extended family.
Following requiem Mass in Clogheen church, she was laid to rest in Shanrahan cemetery.
May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace.
FR SHEEHY’S GAA CLUB
We were all very saddened on Saturday to hear of the death of Rosaleen O’Grady, Killeatin, Clogheen.
Rosaleen was predeceased by her husband Harry RIP. (a former coach, treasurer and chairman of Fr Sheehy’s).
Sympathies to her sons and former players Henry and William, daughters Joan, Helen, Fiona and Eimear and daughter-in-law Audrey.
Rosaleen is grandmother of juvenile players Harry, Dan and Mary (Brian Borus). Harry and Henry were coaches and administrators with Fr. Sheehy’s GAA over the entire lifetime of our club and we send all the extended family our sincere condolences.
UNDER 13 FOOTBALL FINAL
Our under 13’s played in the South C Football Final on Saturday morning in Cahir. We came up against a strong Newcastle side who gained the upper hand in the second half and came away with the win.
Congratulations to Newcastle.
Well done to the boys on getting to the final and giving it their all. Thanks to the mentors Declan English, John Quinlan, Mike Wall and Carol McGrath.
The team still have a lot to play for with the South-Mid football league continuing and the hurling yet to start.
Feile na nGael hurling
Féile na nGael Division 6 County Hurling Final result: Knockmealdown Gaels 0-3 Portroe 0-2
We had a great battle with Portroe in Clonoulty last Sunday week. Every ball was fiercely fought for over the 30 minutes. Well done boys on a great win.
Our under 7s were in Rockwell on Saturday morning for a South/West hurling blitz . We had two teams entered and played Moyle Rovers, Knockavilla Kickhams and Éire Óg Annacarty. Well done boys.
South u15B football result: Ardfinnan 7-11 Knockmealdown Gaels 3-4
South/West Minor hurling league result: Clonmel Óg 2-17 Knockmealdown Gaels 0-14.
FÉILE PEIL THIS WEEKEND
Feile Peil u15 football takes place this weekend and we are hosting Roscrea, Durlas Óg and Kilsheelan/Kilcash in Clogheen on Saturday morning. All are welcome to watch and admission is free.
